  1. Hi Leilani,

I have to say, I chuckled a bit when I saw "My family" on your list. That's so sweet :) and to add to that, there was the asterisk, aww...

I like the five things on your list, and I like how you've added images to go with them. Although, if I were you, I would also add a passport - they're gonna be handy when you're at the airport!

    Keep blogging!

  2. Hello There Leilani,

I'm a year 7 student from S.P.X school and my name is Von. I like the things that you have added to your list. I also like how you add images that goes with the things you have put down on your list! I was wondering isn't there some important things you should take with you when you go overseas etc. what about your tooth brush and tooth paste?

Fabulous work and I hope that you continue to Blog :)

  3. Hi Leilani,

I definitely agree with Willy - it is very sweet that you invited your family to join you on the trip to Australia. I am sure that they would love to accompany you on this big adventure.

It's great to see that you've thought about what you want to bring with you on the trip. You will definitely need a camera, clothes, shoes and a hat. I think that you will also want to bring things like toiletries (as Von mentioned) and some money/passport. Years ago you used to be able to fly to Australia without a passport but, these days, you really have to have one in order to fly anywhere outside of New Zealand.

Do you happen to have your own passport? I recently updated my passport and it was a huge mission because I am originally from Canada. Therefore, I have a Canadian passport and I had to go to the Canadian embassy in New Zealand in order to get a new one. The embassy is in Wellington so I had to take time away from work in order to get there. It was worth it, however, because I am now able to go on adventures overseas :-)

I hope that you are enjoying this adventure, Leilani. You're doing really well!

Keep up the great work! Soon you will be on the plane and on your way to 'Oz' (our nickname for Australia).

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  4. Kia ora Leilani,
Welcome back to 2017, I have just come back to work this week too and it's great to see you have started the Summer Learning Journey again and are ready to head off to Australia! Like Willy said, don't forget your passport:-) Great that you have your camera packed and will be able to take photos of all the sights you see in Australia. Where do you think you'll go first? What are you hoping to see while you're there? Keep up the great work sharing your learning.
    Tania
