My best polyfest TRIP!

                                                My best polyfest TRIP!

On Thursday this year Team 5 went on a school trip to polyfest in Auckland. What is Polyfest?. Polyfest Stands for Polynesian Festival. Every Year they celebrate all the different pacific cultures like, Samoa, Tonga, Nine, Cook Island and Maori. There are different stages of cultures they do performances, dancing and singing competition. They also have different shops cultures and food shops to taste. You could also buy things or get a moko paint.

When we arrived we hopped off the bus and lined up in rows of classes we saw amazing things and stages I was really excited because this was my third time going to poly fest. Then we meet some college kids named Sabrina, Tony and Mele they were going to show us different Community Stages like AUT and and ASB they were the ones who were the sponsor. My team was Lisanna mum and the people in my group were: Me, Lisanna, Richard, TJ, Jasmeny and Gywwny. Then we went to AUT and we got to look at the community who helps and how we can our environment. The a man got to ask us some question and if we get it right we get a sack ball tagged AUT I got one of them. Next we went down to the fire demo station to talk about what to do when there is a fire in you house or in the kitchen.

A man had a stove and a pot now the pot was on fire and it was a big fire so they were going to demonstrate how to take out a real fire what to do and what not to do. The man put a wet tea towel over it and the fire was still on then he put a chopping broad and it didn't stop but the when he add water to the fire it blew up and the fire got bigger but they told us never add fire to a fire. Next we went down and saw some dancing then we headed to some shops and TJ brought a hat for him. Then we went to a moko panting shop and we each got a moko for 5 dollars and we called our selfies the mokos team. The Lishannas mum brought us some watermelon Ice Cream and we went to watch the Maori stage.

After that we went back where all the other schools kids were and we took photos which went up on the T.V. and lined up and took a ride back to school. My part of the day was when we went tot the fire demo and two things I learnt was you should never had water to a fire and we can all keep the environment safe if we help out with the community and that was my best polyfest trip ever
