Facts about Milo of Croton

1.Milo of Croton is a 6th century BC wrestler

2. One story tells of the wrestler saving the philosopher's life when a roof was about to collapse upon him and another that Milo may have married the philosopher's daughter Myia.

3.Milo won the wrestling championship; in these and other Greek national games, he won 32 wrestling competitions.

    You have done some great research and found some very interesting facts about Milo of Croton. He was an incredible athlete in his day and a very strong man. Apparently he used to train for his wrestling competitions by carrying a small cow (called a calf) on his shoulders every day. Can you imagine carrying something like that on your shoulders? I definitely couldn't handle it. I would fall over!

    Of the facts that you read about Milo, which one did you think was the most interesting? I personally found the information about his marriage to Myia the most interesting. I wonder if she married him because he saved her father's life...
