2.In Australia the highest mountain on mainland Australia is Mt Kosciuszko

3.The capital city of Australia is Canberra

  1. Hello, Leilani I never knew that Australia was the 6th biggest country until I searched up and you were right. How do you pronounce Mt Kosciuszko since you wrote it down you should know.
Do you know the capital city of Australia?
If you do why wouldn't you write it in
but its up to you :)

  3. G'Day Leilani,
    Kia ora Aminiasi,
My name is Tania and I am a Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator - I work in lots of different schools with teachers and learners who, like you, are using chromebooks for their learning and blogs to share their learning. I have been emailing with Rachel and she has told me all about The Summer Learning Journey so I wanted to check out what everyone was up to. When I was your age I went to live in Australia for two years with my Mum, Dad and brother. We had a caravan and a truck and traveled all the way around Australia. I did my school work through the NZ Correspondence School. The thing I remember most is Ayers Rock. You'll have to check that out! It is a very special place to the Aborigine people and they call it Uluru.
Keep up the great researching, reading, writing, creating and sharing. Enjoy your summer holiday.

  4. Malo e lelei Leilani,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! We are so happy to have you on board with us, and I'm looking forward to reading your blogs through your journey to Australia.

My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

I really like the facts that you have found out about Australia. What was it that made you want to explore Australia in the first place? I think Australia is a beautiful country, with lots of amazing places to visit. There are a lot of similar aspects to their culture as ours here in New Zealand, so it should be a fun learning journey for you!

Is there anywhere in particular you'd really like to visit in Australia? I have a lot of family living in Brisbane, so I'd love to go back there one day soon hopefully to visit them all. Or maybe even Adelaide, because they have Giant Pandas at their Zoo!

Keep up the great work on your blogging Leilani, I'm looking forward to reading what you have in store for us next.

    Dan.
