Ever been to Wellington before if you have you might have been to the Botanic Garden or the beehive. If I had a chance to go to Disover Wellington I would go to the Botanic Garden with my family and friends. Why? beacuse One: my mom loves plants an garden she even has her own garden at our house and seconde: because I love plantas too and the Botanic Garden would be a great place to studdy and look at diffrent types of plants that you don't usally see ever day. I love the Botanic Garden Statues they are very intreting and cool.
Another place that i might like to visit is the Wellington Beehive and Why? Because one day I really want to meet Jonh Key the Prime Minster
Hi Leilani! Thanks for posting this great blog about Wellington. It truly is one of my favourite cities in New Zealand (even though it can get a little bit windy sometimes)!
ReplyDeleteIf I had the chance to visit Wellington I would also choose to go to the Botanical Gardens. I love flowers, especially native New Zealand ones like the Pohutakawa. This year I actually bought my friend a Pohutakawa tree for Christmas because she just moved into a new house and her dog ate every single tree in the year. Yikes!
Do you have a dog? I used to have one when I was younger but I haven't had one since I moved to New Zealand. Aronui (my son) and I did recently get a cat, though. His name is Jackson and he's very cute (and a bit naughty sometimes!)
Hope that you are having a wonderful break, enjoying the out of doors, the flowers and the fauna here in Auckland. I'm really looking forward to blogging with you when you're next online!
Merry Christmas :)
Rachel

Talofa Leilani!
DeleteI hope that you had a wonderful new years. We went out for dinner and then watched the fireworks from the top of Mt Victoria (a tall mountain on the north shore of Auckland). We drove from our house out west to the north shore in order to have a cool view of the city. It was pretty spectacular but I was very tired when we got home!
I am really sorry to hear that one of your cats ran away and the other passed away. That must have been very sad. I will remember to cherish Jackson (my cat) even more because he is getting older and I may not have his company for much longer, either.
It's always important to remember to be grateful for what we have, isn't it? Thanks for reminding me of that!
All the best,
Rachel =)
Kia ora Leilani!
ReplyDeleteI'm Mark, one of the teachers working with Rachel on the Summer Learning Journey. I really like your blogs! You answer questions clearly and are not too wordy.
What I might like to see in future is a little more explanation- so always ask yourself "why?" and if you can answer it with something more than "because that's the answer" then do so.
For example the "why" in this blog might be "because I love gardens and the pictures I have seen really want me make to see it all with my own eyes" and "because if I met the PM then I could ask him/her to change some rules and help poor people more with literacy and education programmes." or whatever. This might make your blogs a little longer, but also might push your answers above and beyond the normal, turning them into something where you can show off how interesting your thoughts are.
In any case, I can't wait to read more blogs. I used to live in Wellington, so I have been to those gardens and you have chosen wisely. What you might not know is that the PM's house is just down the road from those gardens! All the PM's live in that house at some point. It is very big old-style. Maybe you could catch whoever is PM at the time out in his/her garden haha!
Keep up the great work!
Mark
