I GRADUATED!!!!

"Today is FINALLY THE DAY!, Okay lani let’s have a quick check!.
Teeth brushed? Check!, Hair Brushed? check!, Clothes neat and tidy? Check!”.
“Now what did I forget?. Oh yeah!. My bag and my rope! Oh wait can’t forget
my mum as well hahah”

Grab my keys and heading into my car, saying my part over and over, again and
again in my head ,making sure not to forget a single thing I say. Ohh and don’t
forget to smile! Remember that Lani!. I hear my phone ringing somewhere in
my car, “Where is my phone?”, looking under my seat “A HA! found you” I pick
up the phone and answer it, its my Best friend Mia ( Were best friends since we
were 4 year old). She calls me saying “Lani!!, you need to hurry up the ceremony is starting really soon and the doors are going to open, Your whole entire families her waiting for you and wow! Are they holding so much gifts your so lucky” I just chuckled and said I was on my way right now.

Now let me pause for a moment and just say that there's going to be a lot of cameras flashing at me and at all my friends as well.
First let me introduce myself, Hi my name is Lani, the year right now is 2026 and today is a very important day, So like I’m in a hurry so bear with me please. (Parking my car right now) so in 2026 a lot has changed in New Zealand right now I’m in the city and…. Lani, Lani, LANI hurry up… Oh sorry that's Mia calling me right now be right back!.......Okay as I was saying before, a lot has changed in New Zealand like teacher finally got better education and teachers striking dropped but the government let the teachers have a week off and now we drink water that’s pink? I know crazy right!!!. Anyways…..I have to go in and get ready right now

( 40 minutes later )
My mum and I are talking in the Auckland university right now. Mums crying with tears of joy and making sure my rope looks tidy. While I’m struggling holding all of my gifts that my family brought.

“She says to me you’ve come this far, now go out there and get what you deserve!. Lani I don’t know what the future holds for you but all I know is that you future will bright and better and happier as ever!. I couldn’t be proud! I love you”
And as she said those words I cried my tears pouring out, she said stop crying your gonna ruin your makeup, I thanked my mum for everything she did! She always been by my side until this very day and I’m so lucky to have her. As I said
I go into the Auckland.U and the ceremony starts!, and the doors open, my whole family and friend start taking picture of and tagging me in there Instagram (hopefully!). I walk through the door lined up!, and as my turn came I went on stage took a deep breath and started my speech. I shared some great memories I had with my friend and how the bad thing turn into good things, I also told some embarrassing stuff me and my friends did and then every cheered for me as I grabbed my certificate with pride and heading off stage happy as ever my mum gave me a hug and I was so happy.
So now you know. Today is the day that I graduated University, Well you can go off now my future is waiting for me. Then we turned around looking proud at my parents and then throw my hat to them.

How to prevent yourself from getting sick.

How to prevent yourself from getting sick.

Sickness, it's a very common and interesting thing that affects on people body that has been around for centuries. Everyone has gotten sick before, there is not one person I have ever meet that has never been sick. Sometimes you have this feeling that your about to get sick. Really quick you wanna find a way to prevent yourself from getting sick or getting even sicker. Well I have some tips on how to prevent yourself from getting sick!
----------------------------------------
Tip 1. - To prevent yourself from getting sick. Drink lots of water, not drinking enough water could give you dehydration which causes you to have dry sick and get sick easily. It's also good if you drink lots of Cold water in the Summer, it will help you to cool down. If somehow you do get sick, remember to go straight to the doctors. Don’t think you don’t need to go soon or later it will get worst and you’ll regret not going also the medicine they give drink or take it. They can help you get better if you take it more often.
----------------------------------------
Tip 2. -  Another way to prevent yourself from getting sick is, in the winter wear jacket, jumpers gloves and socks to keep yourself from getting cold and sick as well, keeping yourself nice and warm can help you to prevent from getting the flu. Do this in the winter mostly or in the morning when it freezing cold outside, brrr. This is also leading to exercise, remember to exercise. This is a good method because it keeps your body warm as well, running around make you sweat a lot. Also doing exercise and fitness will help you get fit as well, like play more sports and go running up and down your streets things like that.
----------------------------------------
Tip 3. - Finally, a way to prevent yourself from getting sick is wash your hands before you eat or wash your hands when you finish using the bathroom. That one is important because some kids don’t do it or forget to. It important because you don’t know how many germs are in those bathrooms and if you don’t wash your hands you could spread your germs to others and they’ll get sick. So remember to wash your hands. Oh and lets not forget if you buy fruits or vegetable that are displayed outside remember to wash them once you get home because other people have touched them before too and maybe some little insects might have been on it, that also goes for the vegetable/fruits in the packaging they come in like those plastic bags with fruits inside them, yep! Also wash those. Don’t spread germs!.
--------------------------------------
So pretty much we have a lot of tips on ways to prevent yourself from getting sick. Getting the flu or cold is very common these days, so keep a lookout. Remember get rid of the flu before it hits you. Take these tips and in the end they might be useful after all!.

How to save money

Title: How to save money

Money is used for so many things nowadays. Everyone just wants a piece of it to spend and spend and when you’ve done using all your money, you barely have any left, that sometimes you just wish you didn’t spend it all. Here are some tips on how to save money, instead of spending it.
------------------------------------------
Buy things you need not want - This is a really useful tip. Don’t buy things that you want, like toys and lollies, these are two things that are common to me. You don’t need a toy instead buy what you need like food!. Food helps you survive in this world, not toys. Eating is important to our parents it’s very important for us to eat.
------------------------------------------
Putting money in your savings account - Another tip is and this is a very important one, even for parents. Okay, you’ll be so happy the first time you get money or when you get paid a lot! somehow you are being very good earning your money. The one problem is you have nowhere to put your money but your wallet, once it’s in your wallet you end up spending it all and can’t help but spend all of it. In the end, you feel so disappointed because all your money is gone. So a tip is put it in your bank account. You’ll less spend it and more save it. In the end, you’ll be so proud of yourself for saving up money that if you do have a lot of money left you might even go on a trip ( Maybe ).
-------------------------------------------
Save power - Finally, tip is, don’t waste the power this is a common thing because it’s mostly kids. Now you kids should help out too with saving money for you parents give them something back. Like instead of watching T.V and play on your tablets and iPhones maybe go outside and play or help out your parents by doing some chores maybe these chores would help you earn pocket money!!.
------------------------------------------
Conclusion - As you can see there are so many ways that you could save money, it only takes a little effort to do it. In the future these tips might help you, you never know until you do it!

Summer Learning Journey: Wk #2 - Day #2 - The Roaring 20's ( The 1920's )

Hey, up to Day #2, am I a miracle worker or what, I'm just kidding. Let see what I been up to lately...

Activity #1
*Popular Culture - The Silent Movie
A picture in Black and White!
The 1920s saw a massive surge in the number of people going to the movies. Huge new cinemas were built in both Auckland (The Civic Theater) and Dunedin (Empire De Luxe).  The most popular type of movies showing at local NZ cinemas were ‘silent’ films. Gold Rush and The Lion's Cage are examples of iconic silent films. They feature a famous actor named Charlie Chaplin.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever heard of The Gold Rush or The Lion Cage? Charlie Chaplin was the main character in both movies. He was the main character- The Tramp in the Gold Rush. And in the Silent movie - The Lion Cage as he was chased by a deer and he went into a cage where a lion was sleeping.. there be more to tell.

----------------------------------------------------------------------- So I had to watched 2 silent movie, and write some review about weather I liked them or not, and why or why not?
--------------------------------- So the first one I watched was The Lion's Cage

Image result for The Lion cageReview 1#: The Lion Cage was very funny for me, because he was like panicking and running around trying to find he way out of the cage. At the end was crazy because I think this woman came and saw he was in the cage so then she unlocked when she came back with the key, and Charlie Chaplin, he was like running for the *hills (*Running as fast as he could) up to a pole and had no idea how he climbed that high,
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Second one I watched was Gold Rush

Image result for gold rush 1925Review #2: I like this movie, it was adventures and exciting and surprising because like, you didn't know what was coming next because it was a silent movie ( Of course ). I liked how he feel in love with a barmaid, trying valiantly to win her affections. I think this was my favourite one, I love the trailer.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Activity #2
* Art Deco

In the 1920s a new artistic movement emerged in New Zealand (and around the world). It was called ‘Art Deco.’ The picture to the right is a classic example of an ‘Art Deco’ piece. Take a close look at the painting. Do you like it?
Self Portrait By Tamara de Lempicka
---------------------
Well, looking at the painting. This look's fantastic to be honest.

If this was a rating out of 5 star⭐ (1 star = terrible painting, 2 stars = pretty bad painting, 3 stars = okay painting, 4 stars = good painting and 5 stars = amazing painting). Also with a reason why or why not.
----------------------
So the rating I would give in my opinion is 4 stars⭐. I like how its been painted, I can see those white shades that have been painted looking like the sun was reflecting on that brand new car. I also like how the lady has her hands on the wheel, it looks as if someone is siting next to her. All though I would like it if her face was happier and left the mouth side a little up to make a smile. But I like all the painting around, even the blue turquoise color paint for the car looks AMAZING!!.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus Activity #3
*Crossing The Tasman

In 1928, a crew of four men flew, for the first time, across the Tasman from Australia to New Zealand. One of the men on board the Southern Cross airplane was a New Zealander named T.H. Mc Williams. His job was to operate the radio in the airplane. Unfortunately, the radio stopped working shortly after take-off and the rain and ice were so heavy that the pilot, Kingsford Smith, couldn’t see out of his front windscreen. Yikes! Fortunately, the plane made it all the way across the Tasman landing in Christchurch after a 14 hour trip.

Right now, I'm imagine that I'm in one of those plan crew's right now. I brought my diary with me when the plan, the crew and I landed. I'm going to write a poem about how I felt when I landed.
---------------------------------------------------
Poem:

Hoping onto the plane feeling proud as ever!
Closing doors, looking into the metal pipe, seeing my reflection feeling clever.
Hearing chit chatting were ever I turn
Its getting really hot in here, I feel like I going to BURN!
I hope nothing goes wrong, where is the captain he taking so long?
Oh no!, Whats that shaking I have to know
Shaking feeling scared, did I come unprepared?
Nope I'm just being silly, No really
Well finally we have landed, we grabbed our bags and hoped out as commanded
I hope I learned a lesson from this, good thing I have my friend beside me ''Chris''

My Poem!

The End!
Well thats the end of my post!
I hope everyone had an AWSOME New Year.
Thanks to Billy for the Kind comments

Reflection on 2017 - Leilani 😀😀😀😀

My Reflection for 2017..😀😀

2017 was a excellent year. I loved it this year, even though I just started I loved it. I loved the trips that we went on this year like polyfest, rainbow-zen, parakia and more. I also made new friends a lot actually and getting to know everyone was the best part this year, I was glade I was put back into year 7, so that I wouldn't have to go collage early and still have a lot to learn to get me prepared.

The teachers were awesome they really did make me feel welcome when I came, they made me break out of my shell and the prefects, ohh, it was awesome meeting them they made me feel so, so welcome when I came to Pt England.

I think my favorite subject this year would have to be Maths, I really do like math, its great I love learning decimals and fractions, things that have to do with mathematics I would prefer to say. Literacy was great as well I had an awesome teacher named Mr Wiseman who thinks he's ''The Man'', I'm joking, but he really is he taught us so many great things and he pushed us making us challenge our self's, but that's great so we learned from them. We learned so many things so...... Thanks Mr Wiseman!

Same goes to Mrs Tele'a the head teacher of year's 7 and 8. Shes been an awesome math teacher. Encouraging us and setting us on the right track, so she never gave up on us and she funny as well..... So Thank You Mrs Tele'a!!

As you can see I've had a great year this year, so excited can't wait to be leaders of my school for 2018. Well got to go now byeee.... 2018 here we come 🙆💪 💪

P.s: Thanks year 8 for a great year. Hope you all do well in collage!!😀😀 💪
